The Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) has confirmed that the stretch from Bhootnath to Malahi Pakri is 95% complete. This extension will be open to the public by late February 2026, bringing the operational priority corridor to a total length of 6.1 km.
To ensure the Mithapur-ISBT stretch opens on time by August 2026, PMRC has initiated a plan to lease three-coach train sets from Pune Metro. This strategic move allows operations to start while the permanent Patna Metro fleet is being manufactured.
Construction has officially begun on the massive interchange station at Patna Junction. This underground hub will connect the Red Line and Blue Line. Utility shifting (water and power lines) is currently underway to clear the site for heavy excavation.
